Down on the River front in Vientiane they have a bit of aerobics going on. They seem to love their exercise, also saw a load of people running! Felt a bit guilty!!

The train from Bangkok

Caught the overnight train from Bangkok to Vientiane. Not a bad journey.

A chilled out day

Pretty quiet day today for us in Bangkok.

Headed to MBK shopping centre for a bit of a look and then back along past the hotel my folks are staying at in June. Their hotel is pretty much right on a protest site so hopefully things resolve before then, but having said that, it seemed okay in the area, not too much bother.

We head off on the 8pm train to Laos to night.

Off for some early dinner and a few beers before heading to the train station.

The Grand Palace

The Grand Palace in Bangkok is just amazing. So worth a visit.

We climbed up to the top of Wat Arun, very steep stairs. A great structure and a good view of Bangkok.

We caught a riverboat around to Wat Arun and the Grand Palace. Had a great day out seeing the sights!

We walked right through the protest site near our hotel and another near Siam. It's just like a market place and luckily no issues for us!!

We have arrived in Bangkok after a very good flight. Caught the train to our hotel, super easy! And now have managed to get an early check in! Yay!!

Just over 24hrs!

Such a beautiful day today! We headed out for a bike ride and ended up riding 20km, into North Shore and then back to Lara.

We spent the rest of the day finalising our packing and enjoying a few wines, not to mention a delicious dinner of Portuguese style chicken.

We checked in online this morning too, changed our seats and I am hoping we get a row to ourselves!

Tomorrow we will most likely head out for another bike ride and just do a few last minute preparations.

Our flight is not until 1:05am on Tuesday morning so we have the whole day ahead of us, but that is okay, a sleep in is in order and a few coffees in the morning.

Can't wait to get to the airport, a cider at PJ's will go down a treat and no doubt a bit of tapas at Movida will be on the cards!
